Adding a New Container

By Webhuk Team — August 21, 2025

Adding a New Container

Containers are smaller storage units that belong to a branch.

When "inventory_always_use_containers" System Configuration is set to "1" (true) then inventory is maintained on a per-branch-per-container basis:
i.e., when moving in the inventory via logistics, a destination branch AND container must be selected. When moving out inventory, a source branch AND container must be selected.

If "inventory_always_use_containers" is "0" (false) then inventory is maintained on a per-branch basis:
i.e., when moving in the inventory via logistics, ONLY a destination branch must be selected. When moving out inventory, ONLY a source branch must be selected.

When "inventory_always_use_containers" is changed, the entire inventory history is deleted, so it must be set only once and never changed!

To create a New Container

  1. Mouse-Over on the Admin Menu
  2. Select Branches & Containers
  3. From the right side pop-up menu select  New Container
  4. A new editable window opens up
  5. Enter Name
  6. Enter Description
  7. And select the Branch for this Container from the drop down of box
  8. Click Submit

A new Container is added to the system.
