Containers are smaller storage units that belong to a branch.
When "inventory_always_use_containers" System Configuration is set to "1" (true) then inventory is maintained on a per-branch-per-container basis:
i.e., when moving in the inventory via logistics, a destination branch AND container must be selected. When moving out inventory, a source branch AND container must be selected.
If "inventory_always_use_containers" is "0" (false) then inventory is maintained on a per-branch basis:
i.e., when moving in the inventory via logistics, ONLY a destination branch must be selected. When moving out inventory, ONLY a source branch must be selected.
When "inventory_always_use_containers" is changed, the entire inventory history is deleted, so it must be set only once and never changed!
To create a New Container
- Mouse-Over on the Admin Menu
- Select Branches & Containers
- From the right side pop-up menu select New Container
- A new editable window opens up
- Enter Name
- Enter Description
- And select the Branch for this Container from the drop down of box
- Click Submit
A new Container is added to the system.
