SKUs, Inventory and Logistics

Your Stocks or Goods/Services in Webhuk is maintained using three distinct entities. In order to use the Inventory management system of Webhuk most efficiently, please take a minute to read through and gain a good understanding of the various entities involved.

SKU or Stock Keeping Unit

The Stock Keeping Unit, or SKU as its commonly known, is the definition of an item or service. For example, in the computer industry, an SKU might be "BrandName 500 GB SATA Internal Hard Disk" or in the embedded electronics industry, an SKU might be "ARM 9 Cortex GPRS Reference Board." The SKU is the basis of defining your inventory.

Logistic

A logistic determines physical movement of items from your stocks of goods from vendor to your branch or from one of your branches to a customer. It can also define physical movement of items from one of your branch to another. Example for vendor to branch: IN 20 BrandName 500 GB SATA Internal Hard Disk to branch Chennai Office. Example of branch to customer: OUT 3 ARM 9 Cortex GPRS Reference Board from branch Bangalore Office.

Branch Inventory

The branch inventory determines the current state of the goods you physically have at a particular branch. For example: 40 BrandName 500 GB SATA Internal Hard Disk in branch Chennai Office.
